Little taste of limelight

Yesterday I went to the American Corner / www.americancorner.hu/ to take part in an event. Students in their second academic year were required to give an oral presentation on certain topics within the range of a course at our university. To be honest I've started studying as an English major student this year so I joined them as a member of the audince not as an active speaker.

This time three students had the opportunity to share their thoughts, observations, experiences with the listeners in connection with the topic chosen by them. The facility provides the necessary technical devices which help the speakers give their presentations in appropriate circumstances. All of them used the projector and illustrated the speech with pictures, keywords and topic sentences. The whole event has been videotaped.

The first speaker was Judit who talked about her teaching experiences at an elementery school in Mohács. She highlighted the difficulties and the cheerful moments as well, which a teacher has to face with.It must be a serios mission to arrest children's attention with tasks suitable for their age but we could hear several examples from Judit that it's worth doing it. Requires a lot of patience for sure.

The following one was Kinga who let us know details about her job as an au-pair in the UK. So this topic can be connected to education as well. She didn't have to hold the attention of an entire class but she also had to be really creative. The little guy who she took care of was addicted to computer games, had a totally different cultural backround and interests than Kinga. She decided to introduce him some 'offline' games such as word-plays or outdoor activities. By the end of her stay she succeded to make huge changes in the kid's behavior.

The third person in the spotlight was Balázs who told a story about his best summer ever when he had worked in the USA in a sports camp ( job was organized by CCUSA). When he had one day off he visited the Niagara Falls with his friends. The visa they had only allowed them to see the Falls from the side of the US and not from the Canadian side and they could only enter the US once. They didn't even think about crossing the border and go to the Canadian side. For this reason all of them left their passports in the camp. They were trying to find the right way to the Falls but finally they found themselves in front of an officer on the border on the American side and it was impossible to turn back. They were directed to the Canadian side. So the situation became complicated and hilarious...a group of people lost their way and they have no passports but different nationalities and names which cause real difficulty for American officers to spell correctly.:))
Finally they could see the Niagara Falls of course.:)

Well, If you are not satisfied with my summary listen to stories live next week at American Corner;)

Peace out:)

Where amazing happens...

... the basketball court
I have to confess that I've been addicted to sports since my childhood. I'm lucky because this affection is in my veins due to my parents./Thanx Mum & Dad/:).

I have tried several kinds of sports but the one which has always played the main role in my life is basketball. I haven't become a professional player but it is among my beloved spare time activities.

Every time I play this team game it makes me feel good. During a game your every muscle work and this progress builds up your endurance. And the best thing is that in the same time you can have fun.Especially if you play with your friends.

Tonight I was on an event which inspired me to write about this addiction.
My favorite team Pécs PANTHERS has begun the 2008/2009 season of Men's Professional Basketball Championship. They were fighthing against the team of Sopron and the final result was the outcome of an unbelievable individual offense made by one of our gifted players. So finally we defeated them with 3 points.

If you are interested in further details visit their website:

I think I will write about 'my team' frequently from now on./ the results at least/

Go Panthers!! ;)

Turn the mic up...we got company:)

Let me welcome all of you on my brand-new blog. First of all I would like to explain why I've chosen the name Boundless as a title...Well I wanted to find a word which covers all of the topics I'm planning to write about and here comes the question: - Who knows what the future holds?:)
All I know right now is that besides my lifestyle and experiences I would like to write about topics which you are also interested in. We are all part of the big game called LIFE so we have a lot in common. Anyway, that’s interesting what steps we take in this game and to what direction. Footprints in the sand can’t be the same and…not even our left & right :)
Everybody has the desire to express him/herself...now here is the chance for us to create our own site with our own thoughts, feelings and in the same time practice our English knowledge by sharing our individual ideas.
I'm sure you all have friends abroad or foreign students who are studying here in Hungary. I also have some good friends, acquintances . I'm gonna show my blog to them too. So the title Boundless is also ment to symbolize the fact that borders can be vanished...borderlessJ if you like. The reader of this blog can be anybody who finds pleasure in it. I hope you will…;)
ooops..I haven't even written a word about myself...maybe next time!
take care
